[EN] From the numerical simulations based on the finite element method, in this work is presented a detailed study of some of the most significant influence factors that characterize both the residual stress and the roughness of surfaces treated by means of shot peening technique. The numerical model is based on the works by Miao et al. [1] and Sanjurjo et al. [2]. The material´s behaviour is treated according to the modified Chaboche model [2]. The obtained results are analysed as a function, on one hand, of characteristic parameters of the process, such as the coverage degree, and, on the other hand, of the shot, such as its velocity or diameter. Numerical results allow determining the influence of such parameters on the maximum value of residual stress and on the depth where it appears, and on the indicators that allow measuring the surface roughness. It is also considered the case of materials with surfaces with a certain initial roughness associated.
