Software para repositorios digitales: Evaluación para la gestión y preservación de los materiales bibliográficos y de los documentos archivísticos de la Biblioteca Nacional de Brasil

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo se propone a evaluar y analizar las características y funcionalidades de los softwares Archivematica, DSpace y RODA, con el fin de identificar el más adecuado para la gestión y preservación de los materiales bibliográficos digitales que forman la Biblioteca Nacional Digital (BNDigital) y de los documentos archivísticos digitales producidos por el Sistema Eletrônico de Informações (SEI) de la Biblioteca Nacional de Brasil. Considerando que la llegada de la Tecnología de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) afectó a la rutina diaria de la Biblioteca Nacional de Brasil (BNB) y los decretos 8.297/2014 establece en el artículo 2º que la BNB debe adoptar las medidas necesarias para la preservación y protección del patrimonio bibliográfico y digital bajo su custodia, y 8.539/2015 que en el artículo 18 establece que los órganos o entidades deberán establecer políticas, estrategias y acciones que garanticen la preservación, el acceso y el uso continuo a largo plazo de los documentos digitales. Para cumplir las obligaciones establecidas en dichos decretos, la Biblioteca Nacional de Brasil tendrá que adoptar nuevas estrategias de preservación digital, y una de ellas deberá ser la implantación de un repositorio digital, debido a que la longevidad de los objetos digitales depende directamente del medio de almacenamiento utilizado y los repositorios digitales tienen como objetivo garantizar la preservación, el acceso y la autenticidad a largo plazo de los objetos digitales. Sin embargo, este repositorio tiene que ser adecuado a bibliotecas digitales y documentos de archivo. En la actualidad hay una gran variedad de programas para repositorios digitales, con diferentes características, requisitos y funcionalidades y, debido a esta diversidad, es importante realizar una evaluación; para identificar el más adecuado para la BNDigital y para el SEI, lo que constituye el objeto de esta investigación. [EN] This study aims to evaluate and analyze the characteristics and functionalities of the Archivematica, DSpace and RODA software, in order to identify the most appropriate for the management and digital preservation of bibliographic materials that form the National Digital Library (BNDigital) and the digital archival documents produced by Sistema Eletrônico de Informações (SEI) of the National Library of Brazil (NLB). Thisis because the advent of Information Tecnology and Comuniction (ITC) affected the daily routine of the National Library of Brazil, and the legislative decrees 8.297/2014 that in the 4 artículo 2º establishes that the necessary measures must be adopted for the preservation and protection of the bibliographic and digital heritage under its custody, and 8.539/2015 that in artículo 18 establishes that the organs or entities must establish policies, strategies and actions that guarantee the preservation, access and continuous long-term use of digital documents. To comply with the obligations established in legislative decrees 8.297/2014 and 8.539/2015 the National Library of Brazil will have to adopt new digital preservation strategies, and one of them should be the implementation of a digital repository, because the longevity of digital objects depends directly on the storage used, and digital repositories aim to guarantee the preservation, authenticity and long-term access of digital objects. However, this repository has to be suitable for digital libraries and archival documents. Nowadays there is a great variety of programs for digital repositories, with different characteristics, requirements and functionalities and, due to this diversity, it is important to carry out an evaluation; to identify the most suitable for the BNDigital and for the SEI, which is the aims of this investigation.
