Intercambios culturales entre España e Italia durante el siglo XVII: Bernini y la Monarquía Hispánica

Abstract

[ES] El trabajo estudia la función del arte en las relaciones diplomáticas entre España e Italia durante el reinado de Felipe IV. Investiga el coleccionismo regio de obras de arte italianas, en particular las obras encargadas a Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Para ello, el autor analiza las biografías, cartas y diversos documentos de Bernini y otros artistas del siglo XVII.

[EN] The work studies the role of art in the diplomatic relations between Spain and Italy during the reign of Felipe IV. It researches the royal collecting of Italian art, in particular the works commissioned to Gian Lorenzo Bernini. For this purpose, the author analyzes the biographies, letters and various documents of Bernini and other 17th century artists .
