La musicoterapia aplicada a la enfermedad de Alzheimer

Abstract

[ES] La enfermedad de Alzheimer, neurodegenerativa y progresiva, es una de las demencias más comunes a nivel mundial. De hecho, con el paso de los años se prevé un incremento bastante importante del número de personas que padezcan esta grave enfermedad. Actualmente sigue sin existir cura alguna que impida la aparición de esta demencia, por lo que la persona que la padezca la condenará a una muerte segura. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio es conocer los posibles efectos que conlleva el empleo de la musicoterapia sobre los síntomas de los pacientes mayores de 65 años que padezcan esta enfermedad. En otras palabras, comprobar si la musicoterapia es efectiva para tratar los síntomas más comunes del Alzheimer, siendo estos: la alteración de la memoria a corto plazo y la atención, alteración del lenguaje y de los trastornos de conducta, entre otros. [EN] Alzheimer's disease, which is neurodegenerative and progressive, is one of the most common dementias worldwide. In fact, over the years, a fairly significant increase in the number of people suffering from this serious disease is expected. Currently, there is still no cure to prevent the appearance of this dementia, so the person who suffers it will condemn it to certain death. Therefore, the objective of this study is to know the possible effects of the use of music therapy on the symptoms of patients over 65 years of age suffering from this disease. In other words, to check whether music therapy is effective in treating the most common symptoms of Alzheimer's, which are: alteration of short-term memory and attention, alteration of language and behavioural disorders, among others.
