Discriminación y percepción social del colectivo trans

Abstract

[ES] La transfobia es un problema social que ha sido tratado como tabú a lo largo de la historia. No fue hasta el comienzo de las reivindicaciones por parte del colectivo LGBT cuando la lucha por los derechos y el reconocimiento de estas personas cobró fuerza. El presente trabajo se centra en aquellos aspectos que he considerado más relevantes respecto al colectivo trans, enfocándolo de forma que pueda analizar la percepción que mantiene parte de la población joven española, y así poder compararla con la realidad que viven día tras día estas personas. El objetivo no es otro que acercar dicha realidad a la comunidad actual, tratando de concienciar de la importancia y la finalidad de la lucha por unos derechos de los que no disponen y que necesitan para su protección. Todo ello frente a las múltiples discriminaciones y agresiones que reciben, basadas principalmente en una completa desinformación por falta de una base educativa en género.

[EN] Through history, transphobia has been a social struggle constantly restricted and reserved. It was not until the first revindications and protests from LGBT community when the fight for their own rights and visibility begun. This research is focused on those aspects I have considered more relevant within the trans collective, leading the spotlight towards a process that can analyze the perception of this concept for Spanish young population. Thus, it can be compared with the situation these people have to deal with every day. The aim is bringing this mentioned reality closer to today’s community, with no other goal than raising awareness of it, besides the main target of this fight for those rights that currently do not exist, which are absolutely necessary for their safety and protection. All this having in mind the discrimination and aggression they face on a daily basis, mainly due to a huge lack of education in this topic.
