Resumen
[ES]Los medios de comunicación tienen como función primordial ser los intermediarios de la
información entre la fuente y el destinatario. Un simple vistazo a los titulares de los
periódicos de cada día es una buena prueba de cómo un mismo hecho es percibido de manera
completamente diferente por unos periódicos u otros, dependiendo de la línea editorial que
siguen. Así pues, en este artículo vamos a intentar exponer cómo se traslada la realidad a la
información y cómo se puede modificar la percepción de esa realidad a través de diferentes
estrategias discursivas, entre las que se incluye la desinformación, cuyo instrumento básico es
la falsedad y cuya eficacia trataremos de estudiar y comprender.
Dividiremos esta presentación de la información en tres apartados: en primer lugar, la
selección de la noticia, lo que se denomina técnicamente con el anglicismo de “agenda setting”
o selección temática, que ya es una forma de orientación para indicarnos en qué debemos
pensar.
En segundo lugar, hablaremos del encuadre (“framing”), es decir, la forma de presentar la
noticia, la selección de los datos y palabras y su repercusión en la realidad que se transmite
al destinatario, con lo que puede influir en su percepción de la realidad.
En tercer y último lugar, hablaremos de la desinformación, del falseamiento de la
realidad, de la invención de esta, y de lo que en psicología se ha dado en llamar posverdad.
Trataremos de ver, por tanto, cómo se orienta ideológicamente la información y en qué se basa
su eficacia persuasiva.
