Mujeres migrantes latinas en el sistema sanitario público de la Comunidad de Madrid.

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es abordar los problemas de las mujeres migrantes procedentes de América Latina en el sistema sanitario español, así como realizar un acercamiento a su proceso migratorio y su integración en España. Para ello se ha diseñado un estudio cualitativo basado en entrevistas semiestructuradas a diez mujeres, cinco migrantes y cinco sanitarias de atención primaria en la Comunidad de Madrid. A partir de las voces de estas mujeres, y desde sus diferentes puntos de vista, se analizan aspectos relacionados con el proceso migratorio, con el sistema sanitario español y con la discriminación. Los resultados obtenidos concuerdan con otros trabajos en cuanto a la existencia de barreras como la falta de información, la saturación de las consultas, las listas de espera y la deficiente atención de los problemas psicológicos. Las migrantes reclaman un trato más educado y humano en los centros sanitarios. Las sanitarias manifiestan la necesidad de desarrollar su competencia cultural, así como de disponer de más tiempo en las consultas. Se necesita adoptar medidas que contribuyan a un modelo de atención integral con perspectiva biopsicosocial y culturalmente apropiado; algunas son sencillas, como mejorar la información aportada a las personas migrantes, y otras son más complejas, pero no deben postergarse, como acabar con la saturación de las consultas o mejorar la atención a los problemas de salud mental. [EN] The objective of this work is to address the problems of migrant women from Latin America in the Spanish Health System, as well as to approach their migration process and their integration in Spain. For this, a qualitative study has been designed based on semi-structured interviews with ten women, five migrants and five primary care health workers in the Community of Madrid. From the voices of these women, and from their different points of view, aspects related to the migratory process, the Spanish Health System and discrimination are analyzed. The results obtained agree with other works regarding the existence of barriers such as lack of information, saturation of consultations, waiting lists and poor attention to psychological problems. Migrants demand a more polite and humane treatment in health centers. The health workers express the need to develop their cultural competence, as well as to have more time in consultations. It is necessary to adopt measures that contribute to a comprehensive care model with a biopsychosocial and culturally appropriate perspective; some are simple, such as improving the information provided to migrants, and others are more complex, but should not be postponed, such as ending the saturation of consultations or improving care for mental health problems.
