El turismo cultural en un municipio de la isla de Lanzarote : estado de la cuestón y nuevas propuestas desde la arqueología pública

Abstract

[ES] Desde finales de los años 60, en Canarias evoluciona económicamente y comienza el surgimiento del turismo de sol y playa como principal actividad económica. Con la masificación de este tipo de turismo y la mala gestión política del patrimonio cultural isleño, muchos de los habitantes de las islas sienten que la cultura canaria, así como su patrimonio, está siendo ignorada y abandonada en beneficio de aquellos factores que permiten vender la isla como un destino paradisiaco de vacaciones. Este trabajo toma como objeto de estudio el municipio de Arrecife, en la isla de Lanzarote, y trata de profundizar en el estado, promoción y conservación del patrimonio de este. El objetivo principal es el de ofrecer una serie de pautas que, de ser aplicadas, puedan asegurar la conservación del patrimonio cutural del municipio, y puedan dar lugar a avances para la promoción de un turismo cultural que complemente al modelo típico de sol y playa. [EN] Since the late 1960s, the Canary Islands have evolved economically, promoting its beaches and climate as their main actraction for tourists to spend their holidays. As this type of tourism has grown, many locals feel that the canarian culture and its cultural heritage has been ignored, and that their cultual heritage is not being taken care of as it should. This proyect studies the case of Arrecife ́s municipality, in the island of Lanarote, and its main goal is to study the state, promotion and care of its cultural assets in order to provide a series of proposals. These proposals have the aim to assure the conservation of this municipality ́s cultural heritage, as well as to start making steps into a new kind of tourism, focused on the cultural side of this place, and which could complement the typical tourist model, mre focused on the promotion of the island ́s beaches and weather.
