L'intraducibilità di Benni in “Bar Sport”

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo la puesta en evidencia y posterior reflexión de los conflictos que surgen dentro de la traducción del género humorístico del italiano al español —a través de varios procedimientos de traducción— y de las soluciones adoptadas. Tomaremos como referencia fragmentos problemáticos —y en ocasiones intraducibles— de una de las obras más famosas de Stefano Benni, Bar Sport, considerada un clásico de la narrativa humorística italiana y en el que se describen al detalle rasgos propios de la sociedad italiana de los años 70. Estas características están marcadas por fuertes referentes culturales que normalmente resultan difíciles de trasladar de una lengua a otra, de ahí la complejidad del mismo.

The aim of this paper is to highlight and then reflect on the conflicts that arise in the translation of the humorous genre from Italian into Spanish —through various translation procedures— and the solutions adopted. We will take as a reference problematic —and sometimes untranslatable— fragments in one of Stefano Benni’s most famous works, Bar Sport, considered a classic of Italian humorous narrative and in which features of Italian society in the 1970s are described in detail. These characteristics are marked by strong cultural references that are usually difficult to transfer from one language to another, hence the complexity of the work.
