Actualmente, ser un hablante en la sociedad moderna no es tarea fácil debido a la enorme presión que tienen los hablantes de hablar "correctamente". Lingüísticamente no es verdad que haya una manera más correcta de hablar que otra. Sin embargo, socialmente, existe la Ideología de la Variedad Estándar que defiende que la variedad estándar es la manera óptima de comunicación. Es a esta a la que se pide que los hablantes apeguen su discurso.
La inseguridad lingüística surge cuando los hablantes están conscientes de que su propio discurso se aleja de la variedad estándar o de la norma prescrita. En este Trabajo de Fin de Grado analizaremos las razones, actitudes e ideologías lingüísticas por las cuales los hablantes de Tepeapulco (Estado de Hidalgo, México) han demostrado tener inseguridad lingüística la cual se ha visto materializada en la frase "no sé hablar bien español".
Nowadays, being a speaker in modern society is no easy task due to the enormous pressure on speakers to speak "correctly". Linguistically, it is not true that there is one way of speaking more correctly than another. However, socially, there is the Standard Variety Ideology which advocates that the standard variety is the optimal way of communication. It is to this that speakers are asked to adhere in their speech.
Linguistic insecurity arises when speakers are aware that their own discourse departs from the standard variety or the prescribed norm. In this thesis we will analyze the reasons, attitudes and linguistic ideologies by which the speakers of Tepeapulco (State of Hidalgo, Mexico) have demonstrated linguistic insecurity, which has been materialized in the phrase "I don't know how to speak Spanish".
