Los efectos de la segregación escolar en el rendimiento del alumnado inmigrante: trabajo comparativo

Abstract

[ES] Este artículo analiza y compara los efectos de la segregación residencial y escolar en el rendimiento del alumnado inmigrante de dos centros de la ciudad de Salamanca (Castilla y León, España), de acuerdo con la literatura existente en torno al tema de estudio. A través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a los agentes educativos de ambos centros educativos se han obtenido una serie de resultados que reflejan que el alumnado residente en barrios aislados geográficamente presenta un rendimiento académico y unas oportunidades de futuro inferiores a aquellos alumnos residentes en barrios más heterogéneos. Frente a estos resultados se proponen soluciones aplicables al ámbito educativo con el fin de alcanzar una mejor inclusión educativa y social del alumnado inmigrante.

[EN] This article analyses and compares the effects of residential and school segregation on the academic achievement of immigrant students in two schools in the city of Salamanca (Castilla y León, Spain), based on the existing literature on the topic of study. Through semi-structured interviews with educational agents from both schools, differents results have been obtained which show that students living in geographically isolated neighbourhoods have lower academic achievement and opportunities for the future than students living in more heterogeneous neighbourhoods. In view of these results, solutions applicable to the educational field are proposed in order to achieve a better educational and social inclusion of immigrant students.
