[ES] La época de las emigraciones masivas a los Estados Unidos que se produjo en el último tercio del siglo XIX y primera mitad del XX fue profundamente significativa en todo el mundo. De igual modo, los emigrantes salmantinos contribuyeron al progreso cultural, laboral y económico americano. Este trabajo presenta la experiencia migratoria que incluye la salida de Salamanca, el viaje, el proceso de entrada y la vida en los Estados Unidos. La investigación se matizará y contextualizará a través de fuentes cualitativas como periódicos, cartas y fotografías sobre este período. Los registros de la Isla de Ellis y los censos españoles y norteamericanos serán las fuentes cuantitativas de referencia.
