La festividad de San José de Calasanz en el magisterio español. Reflejo en la prensa diaria española de 1960

Abstract

[ES]En la década de los cuarenta del siglo XX el SEM (Servicio Español de Magisterio) nombra patrono del Magisterio a San José de Calasanz, santo y pedagogo español del siglo XVII y unos años después el MEN (Ministerio de Educación Nacional) instaura su festividad en el calendario escolar como "Día del Maestro". Latía en ello un interés manifiesto por dignificar el status de los maestros y conferirles una misión de acuerdo con los valores nacionalcatolicistas de la época. El estudio de estos objetivos puede rastrearse mediante el análisis de la prensa diaria de la celebración de dicha conmemoración, el 27 de noviembre, en un extenso recorrido por las provincias de España. Asímismo, el Régimen aprovecha dicha fecha para hacer propaganda en defensa de la escuela pública exponiendo el desarrollo de los planes de erradicación del analfabetismo y de construcciones escolares.

[EN]San José de Calasanz, saint and pedagogue of the 17th century, is nominated Patrono of the spanish school teacher's in the 40s of the 20th century by SEM (Spanish Service the Teaching). Its conmemoration is restored a few years later by the Ministry of National Education like the "Day of the teacher" in the scholastic calendar. It means dignifying the teachers status and conferring a mission to them in agreement with the national catholics values of the period. The study of these objectives can be traced by the analysis of the daily press of this commeoration, on 27th November, in an extensive route by the provinces of Spain. The Regime also takes advantage of this date to propagate the suport to the public school, in subjects like the plans of erradication of the illiteracy and scholastic constructions.
