Intertextualidad en los productos cinematográficos: análisis transtextual de Siete novias para siete hermanos (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Stanley Donen, 1954)

Abstract

In this paper we highlight the possibility of applying Gérard Genette's model of transtextual relations (Palimpsests, 1962), originally oriented to the analysis of literary texts, to the study of filmic texts. As a case in point, we have chosen Stanley Donen's film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, whose hypertextual, intertextual, paratextual and architextual relations with other literary or filmic texts (or genres) will be carefully studied. The results of our analysis confirm both the applicability of the model and the contributions from this perspective for a more fruitful appraisal of the film.

En este trabajo ilustramos la posibilidad de aplicar el modelo de relaciones transtextuales de Gérard Genette (Palimpsestos, 1962), pensado en su origen para textos literarios, al análisis de textos cinematográficos. Como objeto de estudio hemos seleccionado la película Siete novias para siete hermanos (Stanley Donen, 1954), que será analizada desde el punto de vista de las relaciones de hipertextualidad, intertextualidad, paratextualidad y architextualidad. Los resultados del análisis muestran la aplicabilidad del modelo y el enriquecimiento que supone esta perspectiva de estudio para la valoración de la película.
