Los misterios de Eleusis

Abstract

[ES] Los misterios eleusinos ocupan en el área de la historia de la religión clásica un papel poco visibilizado pero muy relevante que actúa de puente entre la fe pagana y las nuevas corrientes religiosas y sus preocupaciones. Para entender la relevancia de los misterios, primero se hace un recorrido general, señalando la definición de culto mistérico, para posteriormente pasar a hacer un análisis de Eleusis y sus misterios en profundidad, basándose en el mito fundacional, los rituales realizados durante los misterios, el papel de la mujer en el mito y su traslación a su posición en el mundo pagano, y el análisis de los restos materiales que se conservan del santuario de Eleusis, haciendo especial énfasis en una llamada a la mejor conservación de los mismos. [EN] The Eleusinian Mysteries are not a prominent area of study in the history of ancient religions, however they do play a major role as a bridge between ancient Greco-Roman beliefs and new religious trends and their preoccuptations. To understand the relevance of the mysteries a general rundown of mysteric cults has been made, followed by an in-depth analysis of Eleusis and it's mysteries, along with important aspects such as the foundational myth, the rituals performed during the mysteries and the role of women in the mythology of the mysteries and how it translated into the position that women occupied in the wider Greco-Roman world. To finalize, an analysis of the archaeological has been made and it is accompanied by a call for their better preservation.
