| dc.description.abstract | [EN]A paper is presented on the role of industrial engineers in the generation of devices and resources for rehabilitation, as they apply principles of design, optimisation and process management to improve the efficiency and functionality of these products. Their training allows them to collaborate with healthcare professionals in the development of technologies that are adapted to the specific needs of patients, seeking practical, safe and accessible solutions. Their contributions include the ergonomic design of assistive equipment such as prostheses, exoskeletons, orthoses, wheelchairs, as well as the implementation of manufacturing processes that guarantee quality and reduce costs. They also optimise the supply chain to facilitate the distribution of rehabilitation devices and promote the use of emerging technologies, such as 3D printing, and artificial intelligence, to personalise treatments and improve the user experience. In addition, industrial engineers develop quality assessment and quality control systems to ensure that devices comply with technical and health regulations. In this article, it is described a holistic approach to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in both product design and rehabilitation processes, thus contributing to more efficient and patientcentred care. In summary, the aim of this paper is to highlight the role of the industrial engineer as a bridge between technology, health and management, being fundamental in the creation of innovative solutions that improve the quality of life of people undergoing rehabilitation. | es_ES |
