Análisis de Vete y Vive, Vals con Bashir, Una botella en el mar de Gaza y Cinema Sabaya

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la representación del conflicto palestino-israelí en el cine contemporáneo mediante el estudio comparativo de cuatro películas: Vete y vive (2005), Vals con Bashir (2008), Una botella en el mar de Gaza (2011) y Cinema Sabaya (2021). Desde un enfoque interdisciplinar —que combina estudios culturales, históricos, lingüísticos, de género y cinematográficos— se exploran las formas en que el cine retrata, interpreta y problematiza esta realidad compleja. El análisis revela que estas obras no solo documentan el conflicto, sino que también construyen memoria, generan empatía y visibilizan voces marginadas. A través de temas como el trauma, la identidad, el diálogo intercultural y las fronteras simbólicas, las películas invitan a cuestionar los discursos hegemónicos y a reconocer la humanidad compartida entre los dos lados. El estudio concluye que el cine posee un claro potencial transformador: puede actuar como herramienta de reflexión crítica y agente de cambio simbólico. Si bien el corpus analizado presenta limitaciones, se proponen futuras investigaciones centradas en el cine documental, la recepción internacional y enfoques intersectoriales.

This paper analyzes the representation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in contemporary cinema through the comparative study of four films: Live and Become (2005), Waltz with Bashir (2008), A Bottle in the Gaza Sea (2011) and Cinema Sabaya (2021). From an interdisciplinary approach —combining cultural, historical, linguistic, gender and film studies— the ways in which cinema portrays, interprets and problematizes this complex reality are explored. The analysis reveals that these works not only document the conflict, but also construct memory, generate empathy and make marginalized voices visible. Through themes such as trauma, identity, intercultural dialogue and symbolic borders, the films invite the public to question hegemonic discourses and to recognize the shared humanity between the two sides. The study concludes that cinema has a clear transformative potential: it can act as a tool for critical reflection and an agent of symbolic change. Although the corpus analyzed has limitations, future research focusing on documentary cinema, international reception and intersectional approaches is proposed.
