Semiótica en la obra de Eiichirō Oda: taxonomía genettiana en One piece

Abstract

«Todo texto se construye como un mosaico de citas». Así definía Julia Kristeva la intertextualidad, término que acuñó en su obra Semiotikéen 1969 y del que derivarían otras definiciones propuestas por diferentes estudiosos de la Teoría de la Literatura, en ocasiones rozando la antonimia. En el presente trabajo se intenta dilucidar cómo el fenómeno de la intertextualidad se manifiesta por medio de la composición del personaje de Usopp, uno de los protagonistas del manga One Piece. Se llevará a cabo una taxonomía de diferentes mecanismos intertextuales presentes en la serie, pretendiendo dar cuenta del entramado de relaciones con textos preexistentes que se establecen en ella. Esta propuesta plantea analizar la ficción como un entramado de múltiples discursos internos, los cuales se insertan unos en otros para conformar el todo de la obra ficticia. Concretamente, se toma referencia del medio del cómic Manga, el cual merece una mayor presencia dentro del estudio semiótico.

«Any text is constructed as a mosaic of quotations». With this phrase, Julia Kristeva defined intertextuality, a term she coined in her work Sémiotikéin 1969. Since then, the concept has evolved into multiple definitions proposed by various scholars in the field of Literary Theory, sometimes bordering on contradiction. The present study seeks to explore how the phenome-non of intertextuality manifests through the construction of the character Usopp, one of the main protagonists of the manga One Piece. A taxonomy of different intertextual mechanisms present in the series will be developed, aim-ing to shed light on the network of relationships it establishes with preexisting texts. This ap-proach proposes an analysis of fiction as a web of multiple internal discourses, which are in-terwoven to form the totality ofthe fictional work. Specifically, the Manga comic medium is taken as the object of study, as it deserves greater attention within semiotic research.
