La locura como resistencia: la voz poética de Alda Merini

Abstract

El TFG consiste en analizar cómo la experiencia psiquiátrica vivida por Alda Merini se refleja en su obra poética. En particular, se explora cómo la locura se convierte en un espacio simbólico desde el cual Merini articula una crítica a las instituciones psiquiátricas, a las normas patriarcales y a los dispositivos de control del cuerpo y la palabra femenina. Combina el análisis literario con referencias al contexto histórico-social y a los discursos sobre salud mental en la Italia del siglo XX. La parte central del trabajo se articula en torno al análisis de una selección de poemas, agrupados temáticamente para abordar distintos ejes que atraviesan su obra: la escritura desde el encierro, el dolor físico y simbólico del cuerpo internado, la construcción del yo poético femenino, la espiritualidad como forma de disidencia, la crítica a la psiquiatría y la memoria como voz de las otras internas.

This Final Degree Project consists of analyzing how the psychiatric experience lived by Alda Merini is reflected in her poetic work. In particular, it explores how madness becomes a symbolic space from which Merini articulates a critique of psychiatric institutions, patriarchal norms, and the mechanisms of control over the female body and voice. It combines literary analysis with references to the socio-historical context and discourses on mental health in 20th-century Italy. The central part of the work is structured around the analysis of a selection of poems, grouped thematically to address different axes that run through her work: writing from confinement, the physical and symbolic pain of the institutionalized body, the construction of the female poetic self, spirituality as a form of dissent, the critique of psychiatry, and memory as the voice of other inmates.
