| dc.description.abstract | In this review we analyze shot-noise suppression and enhancement in homogeneous semiconductor structures in the presence of space charge under different transport regimes. The case of ballistic transport, both for nondegenerate and degenerate injection, will be initially analyzed. We will after include the presence of scattering (both elastic and inelastic) to study the crossover from ballistic to diffusive regime. The diffusive regime with several energy dependences of the scattering time will be subsequently investigated.in all the previous regimes, mainly shot-noise suppression of different intensity is found. To finish, we will address a regime where an increase of th noise is predicted, even reaching enhanced shot noise: quasiballistic transport in the presence of electron traps. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | En este capítulo de revisión se analizan fenómenos de supresión y aumento de ruido shot en estructuras semiconductoras homogéneas de dos terminales en presencia de carga espacial y bajo diferentes regímenes de transporte. El caso de transporte balístico, tanto para inyección no-degenerada como degenerada, se aborda inicialmente. Después se incluye la presencia de scattering (elástico e inelástico) para estudiar la transición entre los regímenes balístico y difusivo. A continuación se investiga el régimen difusivo considerando diversas dependencias del tiempo de scattering con la energía de los electrones. Finalmente se estudia un régimen de transporte cuasi-balístico en el que la presencia de trampas de electrones da lugar a ruido shot aumentado. | es_ES |
