Génesis y evolución de la cultura celtibérica

Abstract

Se presenta un estado de cuestión sobre la Cultura Celtibérica desde una óptica duriense. Partiendo del mosaico cultural precedente, se analizan los rasgosarqueológicos que la definen (cerámica, objetos de hierro y bronce, etc., así como el hábitat y la arquitectura militar y doméstica) y que suponen, a la larga,la uniformización de la cultura material de un amplio sector de la Meseta.Tras aludir al transióndo étnico a partir de las fuentes clásicas, se intenta calibrar la pretendida aportación laténica, que resulta un tanto matizada. Además, seanaliza la evolución de la Cultura Celtibérica en relación con la presencia romana, haciendo hincapié sobre todo en la cerámica que, sorprendentemente.alcanza su máximo esplendor y en las notables transjórmaciones del hábitat. En este trabajo se apunta también una interpretación socioeconómica de laCultura Celtibérica, poniendo en relación la prosperidad de la cultura material con el proceso de formación de oppida, análogo al que se observa en otras zonasde Europa.

On the basis of the earlier cultural mosaic, an analysis is made of the archaeological features that define the Celtiberian Culture from the Duero valley (potterv, iron and bronze artifacts, etc. and also military and domestic settletnents and architecture),that in the long term mean the increasing uniformity of the material culture of a broad sector of the Meseta.After alluding to the ethnic background on the basis of the classical sources, the apparent cultural contribution of La Tene, somewhat modified, is discussed. In addition, the evolution of the CeltiberianCulture is analised in relation with ihe Roman presence, with particular attention to the pottery, then at its most splendid, and the notable transformations in types of dwellings.A social and economic interpretation of the Celtiberian Culture is also noted, relating the prosperitv of the material culture with the development of oppida, similar to the process that can be seen in other partsof Europe.
