Florentino Sanz: el ansia por la coherencia

Abstract

El artículo repasa las trayectorias vital e intelectual del Doctor D. Florentino SanzFernández. Intenta describir su lucha continuada y tenaz en pos de hacerlas discurrir de forma paralela, de lograr la rara coherencia entre su discurso intelectual y sus prácticas vitales. Esa ansia por la coherencia a la que alude el título se va mostrando en las sucesivas etapas por las que discurre su vida: su orígenes en la Castilla rural; su pasopor el seminario; su viaje iniciático a Lyón, que le descubriría unos perfiles de larealidad y del cristianismo bien diferentes a los vigentes en la mortecina España de la que partió; su regreso a esa España oscura dispuesto a batallar al lado de los débiles desde la condición del cura obrero que encuentra en la militancia en la JOC y en el trabajo manual dos asideros en los que sujetar su discurso teórico; la crisis de esta organización en los años de la transición española a la democracia, que enmarca unacrisis personal y la redefinición de su proyecto de vida; las dificultades que surgen en los primeros tramos de este nuevo camino emprendido en los que, al tiempo que construye una familia y trabaja en oficios nada cómodos, estudia para abrirse puertas a nuevas oportunidades; finalmente, la cristalización de ese esfuerzo en la docencia universitaria, primero en la Complutense y luego en la UNED, que le permitiría profundizar en un discurso teórico sobre la pedagogía popular, la educación de adultos yel aprendizaje permanente, cimentado en experiencias propias.

The article goes over both vital and intellectual paths of Doctor Florentino Sanz Fernández. It tries to describe his constant and unflagging struggle in pursuit of make them go by parallel ways, to achieve the weird coherence between his intellectual discourse and his vital practices. That yearning for the alluded coherence of the title appears through the running stages of his life: his origins in the rural Castilla; his stay at the seminary; his initiate journey to Lyon, which make him discover a very different profile of reality and Christianity from the one valid in the lifeless Spain he left; his return to that gloomy Spain, determined to battle along with the weak people, from hiscondition of working priest who found in the JOC militancy and in the handicrafts two of the basis of his theoretic discourse; the crisis of this organization during the transition from spanish dictatorship to democracy, which surrounded his own personal crisis and the new definition of his life project; the difficulties that came up at the first steps of this new opened path, where at the same time he formed a family and worked in uncomfortable jobs, he studied in order to get new opportunities; finally, his effortscrystallized into his arrival to university teaching; first at Complutense and then atUNED, where he looked deeply into a theoretic discourse about popular pedagogy, adults education and permanent learning, all founded on his own experiences.
