Internet, campo y herramienta de investigación

Abstract

Pese a ser un fenómeno extendido, no han sido muchas hasta el momento las investigaciones publicadas sobre la participación pasiva o lurking; menos aún si se trata de comunidades virtuales o cibercomunidades cerradas; nos referimos a aquéllas que son sóloaccesibles para los miembros de la misma y no para cualquier internauta de modo libre. Por ello decidimos llevar a cabo un estudio de caso en un grupo formado en un campus virtual, pero no ligado a procesos formativos estructurados. Así, la Red no solo ha sido el campo de investigación, sino que, tal y como presentamos en este artículo, la hemos integrado en el proceso investigador que hemos llevado a cabo.Por último, quisiéramos apuntar que incidiremos más en la reflexión sobre aspectos metodológicos que sobre los resultados en sí, los cuales pueden consultarse en otros trabajos del autor.

Despite being an extended phenomenon, the research published on the passive participation or lurking has not been many up to the moment; still less if they are closed virtual communities or cyber-communities; we refer to those that are only accessible for its members and not for any internet user freely. Because of that we decided carry out a study of case in a group formed in a virtual campus, but not bound to structured formative processes. Thus, Internet not alone has been the field of research, but, as we present in this article, we have integrated it into the investigative process that we have carried out. Finally, we would want to note that we will emphasize more in the reflection on methodologicalaspects than on the results will affect in themselves, which can be consultedin other works of the author.
