El reformismo borbónico y la enseñanza en Albacete

Abstract

[ES] El artículo lo dividimos en dos períodos en función de la institución que monopoliza la enseñanza de la villa de Albacete: Control eclesiástico: durante más de cincuenta años (1709-1767) los jesuítas controlan la educación, aunque no por ello variaron los contenidos de sus enseñanzas con respecto a otras épocas, pues durante todo el Antiguo Régimen, la Iglesia y el Estado transitaron al unísono y la religiosidad lo impregnó todo. Control municipal: a pesar de las disposiciones que llegaban a la villa referidas a la «secularización», en la práctica esto no era lo que más preocupa a los oficiales del concejo y a los vecinos, sino que lo importante era que se pusiera de nuevo en marcha la enseñanza, después del vacío dejado por los jesuítas. Los contenidos de la enseñanza prácticamente se mantuvieron inalterables durante el siglo XVIII en Albacete.

[EN] This article has been divided into two stages in terms of the institution that monopolizes teaching in the town of Albacete: Ecclesiastical control: the Jesuits controlled education for over fifty years (1709-1767). However, this did not mean there were any changes in the content compared to previous times since the Church and State went along together and religion was all-pervasive during the old political regime. Municipal control: In spite of the orders that reached the town of Albacete on secularising teaching, in actual practice neither the members of the town council nor the neighbourhood were concerned about this. On the contrary, their only interest was getting teaching started again after the expulsion of the Jesuits. The teaching content remained unchanged during the eighteenth century.
