Individuo, sociedad e Historia. Reflexiones sobre el retorno de la biografía.

Abstract

RESUMEN: Durante décadas despreciada por su supuesto carácter superficial y acientífico, la biografía histórica resurge hoy con fuerza inusitada, siendo preciso recurrir a una perspectiva amplia y global para intentar explicar esta trayectoria. En el presente artículo, luego de explicitar los factores, tanto sociales como propiamente históricos, que nos permiten comprender su pasado y su presente, se hace una apuesta de futuro en su favor incidiendo en la necesidad de potenciar los aspectos sociales y grupales dentro de las aproximaciones biográficas, huyendo en todo momento de la simple presentación personalista y hagiográfica. ABSTRACT: After decades of being undervalved be cause of its supposedly superficial and unscientific nature, the historical biography is reappearing today with enormous force. To explain ints course it is necesary to employ a broad and comprehensive approach. In this paper I am going to clarify the social and historial factors which allow us to understand the past and the present of the historical biography. I then propose to stress the importance of emphasizing the social and prosopographic aspects within biographical works. One should avoid at all times a personalized or hagiographic study.
