Abstract

[ES] Onésimo Redondo Ortega (1905-1936) ha sido y sigue siendo un personaje incómodo. Lo fue a lo largo de su corta pero intensa trayectoria política durante los convulsos años de la II República, lo volvió a ser durante el franquismo al ser incluido en el panteón de los "caídos por Dios y por España", y lo es hoy al haberse convertido en un auténtico desconocido. Sin embargo Onésimo Redondo fue mucho más que un simple agitador político o un antecedente -hasta cierto punto- del franquismo. El conocido como el Caudillo de Castilla fue un representante de la doctrina nacionalsindicalista y uno de sus principales defensores; junto con Ramiro Ledesma Ramos y José Antonio Primo de Rivera, es considerado el tercer padre fundador del fascismo español y el promotor de esta ideología en su región natal, Castilla. Esta obra pretende profundizar en las razones de su largo y sorprendente olvido. Se acerca a su pensamiento, a su compromiso con el mundo tradicional y católico de la España rural, o a su obsesión por el mito del contubernio judeo-masónico-bolchevique. El libro pretende sacar a la luz no sólo las facetas más polémicas de su radicalismo político y social, sino también investigar a un autor -gracias a la ingente cantidad de material inédito hallado en tiempos recientes- que contribuyó a generar un pensamiento en el que creyó firmemente. Onésimo Redondo ha sido, de los máximos representantes del fascismo español, el "Caudillo Olvidado". Por fin este libro le presta la atención que merece.

[EN] Onésimo Redondo Ortega (1905–1936) has remained a controversial figure to this day. He was during his brief but intense political career in the turbulent years of the Second Republic, again during the Franco regime when he was enshrined in the pantheon of the "fallen for God and Spain," and he remains so today, having become virtually unknown. However, Onésimo Redondo was much more than a mere political agitator or a precursor—albeit to some extent—of Francoism. Known as the "Caudillo de Castilla", he was a representative of the national-syndicalist doctrine and one of its main proponents. Alongside Ramiro Ledesma Ramos and José Antonio Primo de Rivera, he is considered the third founding father of Spanish fascism and the promoter of this ideology in his native region, Castile. This work seeks to delve into the reasons for his long and surprising obscurity. It explores his ideology, his commitment to the traditional and Catholic world of rural Spain, and his obsession with the myth of the Judeo-Masonic-Bolshevik conspiracy. The book aims to shed light not only on the most controversial aspects of his political and social radicalism but also to investigate a thinker—thanks to the vast amount of previously unpublished material discovered in recent times—who contributed to shaping an ideology in which he firmly believed. Of the leading figures of Spanish fascism, Onésimo Redondo has been the "Forgotten Leader". At last, this book gives him the attention he deserves.
