El exilio, la memoria y los sueños en Purgatorio de Tomás Eloy Martínez

Abstract

[ES] El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar la novela Purgatorio del escritor argentino Tomás Eloy Martínez. Para ello, el estudio fue dividido en tres capítulos: el primer apartado hace una breve biografía del escritor y analiza algunos rasgos de su literatura. En el segundo capítulo se hace una detallada lectura de la novela con el objetivo de discutir algunos de sus temas clave, como el exilio, la memoria y los sueños. En el tercer apartado se sugiere posibles lecturas de esa novela teniendo en cuenta aspectos de la vida de Tomás Eloy Martínez y conceptos literarios.

[EN] The objective of this work is to analyse the novel "Purgatorio", by argentinian writer Tomás Eloy Martínez. The study has been divided into three chapters: the first one contains a short biography of the writer and an analysis of the characteristics of his work. On the second chapter a detailed reading of the novel is made, to discuss its key topics such as exile, memory, and dreams. The third chapter suggests reading the novel while considering aspects of the author's life and literary concepts
