Estudio comparado de la transmisión de valores a través de cuentos tradicionales y modernos en Educación Infantil

Abstract

[ES]El cuento infantil ha evolucionado drásticamente en las últimas décadas, siendo una herramienta imprescindible para transmitir valores educativos y aprendizajes en la etapa de Educación Infantil. Existen grandes diferencias entre los cuentos infantiles tradicionales y modernos, por tanto la selección de cuentos por parte del docente no debe ser tratada como una cuestión baladí. En este trabajo trato de determinar si los cuentos tradicionales y modernos son igualmente válidos en la transmisión de valores educativos. Para ello, he elegido tres valores muy trabajados en la etapa de Educación Infantil (obediencia/responsabilidad, tolerancia a la diversidad y compañerismo), y para cada uno de estos valores, un cuento tradicional y otro moderno. He leído estos cuentos a 20 alumnos de 5 años en las mismas condiciones y de la misma manera. Tras realizar un cuestionario de evaluación después de cada lectura, los resultados indican que los alumnos muestran más interés y mantienen más la atención con los cuentos modernos que con los tradicionales. Los alumnos entendieron mejor la moraleja de los cuentos modernos a pesar de no conocerlos previamente, en los valores de tolerancia a la diversidad y compañerismo. Mientras que en el valor de obediencia/responsabilidad, los alumnos reconocieron la moraleja ligeramente mejor en el cuento tradicional. Este trabajo, teniendo en cuenta las limitaciones en el número alumnos y cuentos analizados, sugiere que los cuentos infantiles modernos podrían transmitir mejor ciertos valores educativos que los tradicionales.

[EN]Children’s stories have changed a great deal over the years, and have become an essential tool for communicating values in Childhood Education. There are significant differences between traditional and modern tales, and hence teachers and educators might choose between these type of children’s stories carefully. TRABAJO FIN DE GRADO 4 In this study, I attempt to determine whether traditional and modern tales are equally valid for communicating educational values. Thus, I analyzed three educational values that are very important in Childhood Education (obedience/responsibility, tolerance to diversity, and fellowship), as well as one type of tale (traditional and modern) for each of those values. The story tales were read to 20 students of 5 years old in the same way and in equal conditions. After the reading, the students undertake a questionnaire to evaluate how well they understand the values stated in each tale. The results showed that students kept greater attention in modern tales than in traditional tales. The students understood much better the moral of the modern tales than that in the traditional tales for the tolerance to diversity and fellowship values. In the obedience/responsibility values, students understood slightly better the moral of traditional than modern tales. This study, despite its limitation in the number of students and tales analyzed, suggests that modern children’s stories might communicate educational values much better that traditional children’s stories.
