[EN] In recent years, the scientific community has become aware of the great importance of
the concept of lying in society. Therefore, the lie has become an object of study of
numerous investigations, trying to understand its origin, as well as the effect of this on
social relations. It has been proven that the lie is used by all kind of people, regardless
of age, gender and socio-educational and socio-economic level, among other variables.
The main purpose of these investigations has been focused on identifying, with a high
level of confidence, the lie. But until now, the results have not been conclusive. The
objective of this project is to confirm the hypothesis that the lie can be detected by
analyzing the voice, since speech is the main instrument used by human beings in their
interpersonal relationships. Despite using the most precise scientific methodology so
far, it has not been possible to reach acceptable levels of confidence in the identification
of lies, suggesting that more effort is needed from the scientific community, although, it
has been shown that the voice plays a fundamental role in the act of lying.
