Cultura visual e información en el acceso abierto

Abstract

[ES] El presente ensayo se inscribe en la cultura visual que en este momento histórico convive con la cultura escrita en el proceso información-comunicación-conocimiento. Si bien, hasta el siglo XX, la cultura escrita dominaba el ámbito de la construcción del conocimiento, con la hiper-sofistificación de las tecnologías de la información, poco a poco las habilidades informacionales han girado hacia la cultura visual, reconociendo a la representación de la información en el pensamiento del individuo como imagen, y, por lo tanto, con otras trascendencias diferentes a la lectura tradicional. El objetivo es describir los elementos que diferencian entre una cultura y otra como base de comprensión de los procesos cognitivos que realiza el sujeto cognoscente en un ambiente de acceso abierto, tema que definitivamente debe interesarnos a los profesionales de la información, preocupados por los mecanismos informacionales que desarrolla el individuo y por los cuales tiene posibilidad de construir su conocimiento. Las preguntas detonantes son ¿Cómo conviven la cultura visual y la cultura escrita en un ambiente de acceso abierto? ¿Qué implicaciones hay para el individuo procesar texto e imagen como representación de la información de acceso abierto?[EN] This essay is part of the visual culture that in this historical moment coexists with the written culture in the information-communication-knowledge process. Although until the twentieth century, written culture dominated the field of knowledge construction, with the hyper-sophistication of information technologies, little by little informational skills have turned to visual culture, recognizing the representation of the Information in the thought of the individual as an image, and, therefore, with other transcendences other than traditional reading. The objective is to describe the elements that differentiate between one culture and another as a basis for understanding the cognitive processes performed by the cognoscent subject in an open access environment, a topic that should definitely be of interest to information professionals, who are concerned about the information mechanisms which develops the individual and by which he has the possibility of building his knowledge. The questions are: How do visual culture and written culture coexist in an open access environment? What implications are there for the individual to process text and image as a representation of open access information?
