Poesía simposíaca de época clásica: Dionisio Calco y Critias

Abstract

Dos poetas del s. V a.C., Dionisio Calco y Critias, centran la atención de este trabajo de investigación. Es innegable la impronta social, política y cultural del simposio en el mundo griego, vehículo de ideas y de desarrollo humanístico, una de las instituciones fundamentales de la Antigüedad. El συμπόσιον fue lugar para la presentación de poesía, y en particular de la poesía elegíaca. El objetivo es estudiar el banquete como espacio para la presentación de poesía, el contexto social y cultural en el que vivieron estos dos elegíacos, y la tradición de poesía simposíaca de época clásica en la que ellos se insertan. Se pretende examinar la recepción y la transmisión de la obra: a pesar de que son conocidos gracias a que Ateneo nos los ha transmitido en su extensa obra a través de citaciones, se puede afirmar que la tradición ha sido justa con estos dos autores, pues de otros ni siquiera hay noticias, después de que los alejandrinos seleccionaran en sus cánones determinados autores, dejando fuera a otros. En el manuscrito más antiguo de los Deipnosophistae que se conserva, la obra está dividida en quince libros, y como tal fue conocida por Estéfano de Bizancio, Constantino Porfirogénito y La Suda. Se presenta un corpus en el que son recogidos los textos de ambos autores, seguidos de una traducción personal original de los mismos. Se analizan los contenidos, metasimposíacos y otros, forma, léxico y métrica. Siguen la bibliografía, un anexo con tres textos, muy significativos en la tradición de la poesía simposíaca, de Jenófanes, Anacreonte y Teognis. ENGLISH: Two poets of the 5th century BC, Dionisio Calco y Critias, focus the attention of this research work. The social, political and cultural impact of the symposium in the Greek world is undeniable: it is a vehicle for ideas and humanistic development, one of the fundamental institutions of Antiquity. It was a place for the presentation of poetry, of elegiac poetry specifically. The aim is to study the banquet as a space for the presentation of poetry, the social and cultural context in which these two elegiacs lived, and the tradition of symposium’s poetry at the Classic Era in which they wrote. It is intended to examine the reception and transmission of the work: although they are known because Athenaeum has transmitted them to us in his extensive work through citations, it can be said that the tradition has been fair with these two authors, because of others there is not even news, after the Alexandrians selected certain authors in their canons, leaving out others. In the oldest surviving manuscript of the Deipnosophistae, the work is divided into fifteen books, and as such was known by Estéfano of Byzantium, Constantine Porfirogénito and Suda. A corpus is presented in which the texts of both authors are collected, followed by an original personal translation of them. The contents, “metasimposíacos” and others, shape, lexicon and metric are analyzed. Finally, we can find the bibliography, an annex with three texts, very significant in the tradition of symposium’s poetry, by Xenophanes, Anacreonte and Theognis.
