La literatura infantil como herramienta de voz: visibilidad del colectivo transgénero

Abstract

[ES]La literatura infantil constituye un mecanismo de conocimiento de diferentes realidades sociales. Por ello, el colectivo transgénero, históricamente silenciado, ha recibido desde la Antigüedad clásica distintos influjos literarios que han permitido su mayor visibilización hasta la actualidad. Esto se debe a condicionantes sociales y religiosos, que han determinado la creación de términos y concepciones sobre esta comunidad, afectando simultáneamente a su representación literaria tanto para adultos como para niños. Considerando estos aspectos y partiendo del análisis del tratamiento etimológico, social y médico de estos receptores, se efectúa una revisión bibliográfica de los escritos literarios más destacables que abordan esta temática, difundidos por España y el resto de Occidente. De esta manera, la relevancia de evaluar estas obras radica en sus planteamientos acertados y desacertados que permiten disponer, en el presente, de mejores recursos para reflejar a este colectivo. En consecuencia, se valoran las posibilidades educativas de la literatura infantil para lograr una sociedad más inclusiva con las personas transgénero y, en especial, con aquellas de edades tempranas. Por todo ello, se brinda una pequeña propuesta metodológica para docentes y familias sobre cómo abordar la diversidad de identidades y expresiones de género teniendo en cuenta ciertas consideraciones y cuentos actuales de gran utilidad.

[EN]Children's literature is a mechanism of knowledge of different social realities. For this reason, the transgender community, historically silenced, has received from classical antiquity different literary influences that have allowed its greater visibility until today. This is due to social and religious conditioning factors, which have determined the creation of terms and conceptions about this community, simultaneously affecting its literary representation for both adults and children. Considering these aspects and starting from the analysis of the etymological, social and medical treatment of these receivers, a bibliographical review of the most outstanding literary writings that deal with this subject, spread throughout Spain and the rest of Occident, is carried out. Thus, the relevance of evaluating these works lies in their successful and unsuccessful approaches that allow us to have, at present, better resources to reflect this group. Consequently, the educational possibilities of children's literature to achieve a more inclusive society with transgender people and, especially, with those of early ages, are valued. Therefore, a small methodological proposal for teachers and families on how to address the diversity of gender identities and expressions is shown, taking into account certain considerations and very useful current stories.
