dc.description.abstract[EN]The transition from primary to secondary education represents a critical moment in every student’s development, marked by personal, social, and academic changes that can lead to adjustment difficulties and a risk of school failure. This problem is intensified in the case of high intellectual abilities students who, despite their high potential, may experience significant difficulties due to a lack of appropriate educational response. Within this context, the present work analyzes the phenomenon of school failure and the complexity of high intellectual abilities students, to study the relationship between both during this transition and to design a preventive and inclusive intervention proposal. Therefore, the pursued objectives focus on understanding these phenomena, identifying associated factors, and designing strategies that promote the holistic development of all students, with an emphasis on high intellectual abilities students. To achieve these objectives, the "Keep Swimming" proposal has been developed, which aims at first-year secondary students and is integrated into the school's Action Plan. This program is structured into three blocks (academic, socio-emotional, and organizational) and is developed with three agents (teachers, students and families), contributing to a systemic and preventive approach. The expected results of its application include improvements in motivation, self-regulation, coexistence, and school adjustment, along with a reduction in the mismatch between ability and performance among high intellectual abilities students. Furthermore, it strengthens the role of teachers by enhancing their training and improves the relationship with families to generate greater coherence between both contexts. Thus, it is concluded that school failure needs to be addressed from a preventive and systemic perspective, through innovative proposals that combines attention to diversity with skills development and coordination within the educational community.en_EN
