Estudio de la variable transgeneracional en la traducción audiovisual de elementos culturales: el caso de How I Met Your Mother

Abstract

[SP] En el presente trabajo, se expondrá la necesidad, no valorada anteriormente, de incluir la variable generacional como dato que tener en cuenta a la hora de realizar una traducción audiovisual. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es asentar unas bases teóricas (centradas en la división de cohortes generacionales, el tratamiento de los cronolectos, los hábitos de consumo audiovisual y los elementos culturales) con el fin de abrir una línea de reflexión y estudio que dé lugar a futuras investigaciones. En segundo lugar, se analizará cómo influye esta variable en la recepción de elementos culturales traducidos en el doblaje y el subtitulado de la primera temporada de la serie How I Met Your Mother desde una perspectiva profesional que, más adelante, será contrastada con los resultados de una encuesta realizada a sujetos de distintas generaciones.

[EN] This paper presents the previously unconsidered need to include the generational variable as a factor to be taken into account when carrying out an audiovisual translation. The main objective of this research is to establish a theoretical foundation (focused on the division of generational cohorts, the treatment of chronolects, audiovisual consumption habits and cultural elements) in order to open a line of reflection and study that may lead to future research. Secondly, it will be analysed how this variable influences the reception of cultural elements translated in the dubbing and subtitling of the first season of the series How I Met Your Mother from a professional perspective, which will later be compared with the results of a survey carried out on individuals from different generations.
