Resumen
[EN]Retranslation refers to the partial or complete translation of a text that has already been translated. Only after Berman’s retranslation hypothesis in the nineties did interest in this topic arise among researchers. Both those who supported and those who opposed the retranslation hypothesis have begun the quest for the main reasons to retranslate. Ageing, norms, ideologies or publishing criteria are some of them. However, there are two main failures in current studies. On one hand, the reasons to retranslate have not been clearly categorised. On the other hand, empirical studies are still insufficient. We therefore propose an analysis of three translations of Strindberg’s Lycko-Pers Resa into Spanish, based on a theoretical approach as well as the study of Strindberg. [SP]
