The aim of this paper is to find the similarities and differences between the Spanish and German dubbing of the first episode of the series The end of the f***ing world, both in terms of translation techniques and the adaptation of the specificities of speech. Likewise, the use of idiolect as a mechanism for constructing the identity of the characters in the three versions is also analysed. The analysis is based on quantitative and qualitative methods, focusing on the main characters, James and Alyssa, when studying idiolect. As a result, certain common trends have been identified that highlight the key elements respected in both versions, especially in regard to the limitations of dubbing and the idiolect of the characters. However, particularities have also been found in each of the languages, which offer an insight into both the methodology used by each of the translators and possible trends that can be extrapolated to the language as a whole.
