Vergangenheitsbewältigung: la ética traductora en la justicia histórica. El caso del holocausto

Abstract

[EN] Within Germany's rich socio-political and historical tapestry, the concept of Vergangenheitsbewältigung emerges as a phenomenon of significant complexity. This bachelor’s thesis is dedicated to an in-depth exploration of this intricate terrain from the vantage point of translation and interpreting studies. Central to this investigation is the elucidation of the influence wielded by ethical and deontological considerations in translation so as to identify the convergence between Translation Studies and Holocaust Studies. This analysis focuses specifically on the translation techniques applied to the speech delivered in the Bundestag by Auschwitz survivor Anita Lasker-Wallfisch. Furthermore, this inquiry explores how translating such testimonies contributes to historical justice, and interrogates the role of the translator within this narrative

[SP] En el rico entramado sociopolítico e histórico de Alemania, la Vergangenheitsbewältigung emerge inexorablemente como un fenómeno de notable complejidad. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se confecciona con el propósito de adentrarse en ese intrincado paisaje desde una perspectiva centrada en la traducción y la interpretación. Un aspecto central es recalcar la importancia de una corriente traductora que sea ética y deontológica para hallar el punto de encuentro entre los Estudios de Traducción y los Estudios del Holocausto. Específicamente, se analizan las técnicas de traducción aplicables al discurso pronunciado en el Bundestag por Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, superviviente de Auschwitz. Asimismo, se profundiza en cómo la traducción de estos testimonios puede promover la justicia histórica y en el papel que juega el traductor en esta sinergia.
